Marriage - Just went through an article about Rudyard Kippling.
This is what he had to say about marriage, after 4 years of it, at age 30 -
In a letter to a friend who had become engaged around this time, the 30 year old Kipling offered this sombre counsel:
marriage principally taught "the tougher virtues—such as humility, restraint, order, and forethought."
Rudyard Kippling's marital relationship was no longer light-hearted and spontaneous when he wrote this :( !
