In its Shadow …
By Manjusha Handa
When on my daily stroll one day, all carefree
These eyes revealed a seedling, so tiny
In the Shadow of his sole providence, his Tree,
Was growing up in a way, so casual and jaunty.
Then very swiftly, this thought just crossed my mind
For few years, as they go by, the seedling will bloom radiantly
In the shelter of its Tree, it will grow robust unconfined
When means of subsistence, from his guardian, come abundantly.
But changing climates around, will make growing seedling feel sore
Irritation, a result of the lack of adequate filtered rays of the Sun
And bound by his guardian, may cause resentment come to the fore
With ticking clock, if so weak he grows; grief will fill, in the long run.
It’s a demand of the tested times, dear ones’ success is solely possible
When in open air, he’s ready to rock, and with open heart he’s ready to breathe
But precisely, connect with caravan’s chief to make life’s pathways feasible
Failure can be overcome, when desires untangle, be patient, and with anger don’t seethe!

Saaye mein Uske …
By Manjusha Handa
Apni roj-marraa ki Chehal-qadmee pe jo niklee
To ek nanhe se paudhe par padhi yeh nazar
Saaye mein Usko, darakht ke apnee
Mushkil-kusha jo uska, panaptaa paya befikar!
Tabhi yakaayak , yeh khayaal ayaa zehen mein
Kuch shab-o-roz-o-maah-o-saal to yeh Nikhrega jaroor
Hoga mazboot Darakht ki chhatr chhaya mein
Jo hua, aasraa-e-rehmat naseeb, Waalee se khoob!
Par Badalti aab-o-hawaa, badte paudhe ko akhregi jaroor
munaasib aaftab ki roshni ki gairhaaziree ki khalish
Aur Nigraan ki bandish, usee bezaar hi na karde hujoor
Yun waqt ke saath woh nidhaal jo hua, bhar jaayegi usmein ranjish!
Samay ka taqaazaa hai, lakth-e-jigar ki kaamyaabi mumkin hai tabhi
Jo Khuli Fiza mein lehraane , jee khol ke Dum bharne ko hai woh taiyaar
Par durust to yahi, raabita jiska Qaafilah-saalar ke saath, aasaan hai siraat wahi
Naakaami chuu nahi sakti, jab ummeed waabasta hi nahi duniya se, faqat raho burdbaar!
