Here's a Poem for Moms and their kids turning 11...
Two Ones Standing Tall
By Manjusha Handa
Before you came, I had no clue
Of how a tiny soul like you
Could make me just breeze through
My new motherhood, a Fascinating Deja Vu!
And when You came along, I knew
What a wonderful blessing to cherish you
Love shined through you for all to see,
I was in awe that you're part of me!
And as you grow, day by day,
you bring us special joy, ne'er to fade away
You're a treasure from above,
You are thoughtfulness and love!
You are laughter, warmth and special charm
I love you so, I do affirm.
These thoughts come from way deep inside
As you always fill our hearts with pride!
With every year that passes by,
You are soon approaching junior high.
Through every stage, you grow more special than before,
through every age, We love you evermore!
A good number 11, two ones standing tall to underscore
These are pillars of modulation where changes are in store.
From here you meet defiantly your future, to live up to your dreams,
We hope you pave your own path to success by all means!
From here you should see both ways fair,
Refuge of childhood’s innocent privilege, where you got a good steer.
Venture into bustling downtown streets, a new frontier
tangled highways to conquer, leading who knows where.
Well, that's the feeling of turning 11, no more a kid aged seven.
Things rise to new level, new ideas and interests are the new leaven.
Well, that's the new you, where eleven is magic and more
But best of the old you too, which we all love and adore.
Child of mine, no matter how big you get, you little child of mine,
My love stretches beyond your bright future, that's the bottom line.
And no matter how far you wander away or fly free,
Remember you’ve a place of true belonging with me.
